There are possibly thousands of design agencies, independent designers and businesses who specialise in branding, graphic design, photography, illustration, film, motion graphics, animation and more. However, there are only a small number of companies who set the pace and rise above the rest.
There are also many design portals, networking sites, agencies and online portfolio sites that showcase the best and the worst that the world has to offer. While searching the net for inspiration I came across a design team based in Porland Oregon (USA) by the name of Colorcubic. I was rather impressed by the sharp, clean and precise nature of there work, so I decided to investigate further and find out how they formed and what there intentions are in the near future.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they not only do design, but they also produce music. They seem to be more versatile than I originally though. I believe they have 3 main sites altogether that comprehensively display their talents.
Colorcubic have an extensive portfolio, with displays a strong typeface skill set, along with a very distinctive collection of photo manipulated designs.
There unique and slick style has attracted attention from some of the largest design orientated sites online. They have been interviewed by PNWorldwide, had features in Smashing Magazine, Motion Graphics Served, Typography Served, Speckboy and more.
If you came across there work across multiple sites you may probably find that their style is easily recognisable. Many young artists in the industry produce styles that have been used many times before, however these guys seem to have produced a style which I believe will set a new trend.
There are not very many design teams who can boast of such a distinctive style which I believe will attract a lot more attention in the years to come. If you wish to contact them you can do so via Skype, Twitter, Virb, Last.fm, Facebook and Myspace. Please contact Christy Lai of Michael John for any of your design project requirements.
