Industrial applications demand best equipment. Some of the latest innovations in measurement equipment come from Hilti and from DeWALT. This article is about these two laser levels.
If you have bought the DeWALT laser level do not think it is broken when you open it up and see it hanging crooked in the level body and not moving. This useful instrument portion is inside the body of the unit and placed in a crooked position with a plastic tab that protects the device during transportation. The user simply needs to pull the tab out from the battery compartment, load in 2 battery packs and 2 in the other battery door and the user is ready to start using it.
The DeWALT Laser Level has a couple of ways to secure or hold the instrument for most applications and jobs extremely good for marking lines vertically or horizontally. The DeWALT laser can be seen across rooms and does a great job for telling if things are crooked or straight like curtain rods, stairs or wallpaper. The instrument can simply be set in 1 spot and used around a working area simply and without having to constantly move the instrument around the room for vertical or horizontal applications.
The wall has to be very smooth such as drywall or plaster board in order for the suction cup of the DeWALT laser level to work even with the adapter. But the DeWALT laser level was meant for this type of use on a vertical surface like inside a home for DIY applications such as hanging shelves and shower rods.
The DeWALT laser kit comes with a sturdy surface adaptor or rubber ring that goes on the rubber ring on the back of the base of the measuring instrument. This useful feature makes the suction cup adhere to rougher wall surfaces such as plaster or stucco and makes an excellent tight grip when using the air pump to suction it to a vertical surface.
I recently did an application with my construction crew and really wish I had one of these Hilti measurement instruments at hand, setting framing for pouring a concrete sidewalk isn’t a heavy duty application but this instrument would have made it much faster. Getting a straight line does not have to be the application of fishing out a bright beam with an instrument dangling in the middle or eye balling the points as the user look across some stick instrument. The user can get the best results that a heavy duty application needs from the Hilti Laser Level.
The user can as well have the bottom screw hole of the Hilti laser and adapter to mount the Hilti laser level onto a tripod for heavy duty applications. This is truly an industrial contractors’ type of measuring instrument with its easy to use features in both the horizontal and vertical positions. The power on button on the top of the measuring instrument has 3 on settings. One is vertical, the second is horizontal and the third setting is both on.
I highly recommend the Hilti and DeWALT laser levels for heavy duty applications as well as for DIY applications and contractor work where accuracy and versatility are the standard.
