Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm: Formulaic film in regards to spunky gal who’s sent to live with her 2 abrasive aunts; mixes emotion, melodrama, and comedy, although it needs the spontaneity and kindle of other Pickford films. Chicken Run: The chickens want to fly the coup in this animated, family comedy. Mrs. Tweedy, the greedy farm owner has other plans, and not only thwarts their escape, but threatens to make chicken pie out of them if egg production doesn’t stay up to standards. All hope seems lost until Rocky shows up and helps the chickens make a more elaborate and daring escape attempt.
The In Laws: Everyone can relate to this uncomfortable situation. The in laws are coming and you just have to survive. Don’t try this at home! Unrated rendition runs 93. Cast includes Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, Richard Libertini, and Nancy Dussault. (103 minutes,’64)
The Last Samurai: This is a true epic story of a lost soldier who winds up fighting a war in a far away land. Hired by the emperor of Japan to train his army, he is quickly captured by the Samurai he was training the army to defeat. Living amongst these great people he comes to believe in the way of the Samurai. He winds up fighting on their side, with all of his heart.
Road Trip: Josh and girlfriend are in college, but’00 miles apart. When Josh is videotaped having sex with another girl things are still safe. When that tape is accidentally mailed to his girlfriend in Austin, it’s time for a road trip. He and his college buddies go’00 miles so that Josh can try to save his lifelong relationship.
Heartaches: Pregnant Potts drops spouse Carradine who is not the child’s dad and becomes the unwilling friend of gentleman-seeking screwball Kidder. Fine lead performances kindle this little comedy. Cast includes Margot Kidder, Annie Potts, Robert Carradine, Winston Rekert, George Touliatos, and Man Sanvido. (93 minutes,’81)
Batman and Robin: The villain Mr. Freeze is trying to take over Gotham City, by freezing the town into submission. With the beautiful villain Poison Ivy trying to form a rift between Batman and Robin, the duo has a lot to deal with. As always they somehow find a way to come out on top.
A phrase like “Downloadable Online Movies” might get a good result. If the first search proves ineffective type in something different. “Latest Movies” would be worth a try.
